McKenna's accident

Sorry for the lack of posts but as most of you know McKenna had a pretty bad accident that ended up with her needing surgery this past week. She is doing so much better now but it has been a rough few weeks. Two weeks ago she was running toward the front door and tripped and fell into the window sill. She busted her bottom lip and when we took her to the ER they told us that she definitely needed stitched in her bottom lip. The Legacy location also told us that they thought that there was much more damage to her mouth and teeth but that they did not have to doctors to help with this so they sent us to Childrens Dallas. When there they didn't think it was as bad as Legacy had thought so they stitched up her lip and we went home. Two days later I took her to the dentist to have them look at her. He took one look at it and sent us to an oral surgeon right then. She had major damage. Her gums were damaged and the jaw bone was even showing. One of her front teeth was also cracked. The surgeon looked at it and said that one tooth had to be removed and that she needed surgery to do that. He also wanted to take a better look at what other damage may have been done. To make matters worse McKenna also had strep on top of this so we had to wait a week for the surgery. Poor baby was in alot of pain and it just hurt me to see her hurting. This past Tuesday she had the surgery and did great. Unfortunately she did have to loose one of her front teeth and two other teeth are loose and hopefully they will tighten back up but there is a chance that she may loose those as well. Her gums are damaged some and her jaw bone is fractured. They are hopeful that the bone will heal and nothing else will be done. We will be keeping an eye of that for the next several weeks. So that is what we have been dealing with the past few weeks. Please pray for McKenna and for complete healing to her little mouth and teeth. She thinks she is pretty cool that she already lost a tooth. She thinks that she is like the big kids. We are going to get opinions on what to do about that. There are some kiddie partials that can be done but there are pros and cons with those so please pray that we will make the right decision with that when it is time to make that decision. Right now she is still my beautiful little angel that has the cutest toothless grin that I have seen! I will post pics soon! (I have pics of her and her mouth a day after the accident but they are pretty bad and I don't want to gross anyone out so I will not post those) So this is the condensed version of what has been going on with us. Hopefully the next posts will be back to fun things we have been doing!
