Let's Party.....80's Style!

Last weekend our great friends Sarah and Wade hosted a fun 80's party for Wades birthday! Even though it really wasn't a kids party, McKenna being the lucky and loved little girl that she is was invited to come! She had a great time playing with Clayton and that way they had each other to "hang out" with during the party! Lets just say McKenna loved it!!! She loved being a little 80's girl! As you may have guessed we were all supposed to dress 80's! Thanks to my wonderful friend Holly I was able to crimp my hair....yes she still has a crimper!!! She also had heart legwarmers too!!! So I was set! I found a few other things at the Goodwill and I was good to go! McKenna also dressed the part! We crimped her hair and I found her a cute rocker shirt at Target! (By the way....80's is coming back too! I was amazed at how much Target had! As long as the hair doesn't come back.......!) Even though I searched really hard for some Hammer pants for Todd I couldn't find any in his size so we had to settle for his AC DC shirt and black pants! I am a little hesitant about posting these pics of me but here we go! Have fun and don't ever expect to see my hair that way ever again!!!!

McKenna loved crimping her hair...and getting to wear blue eye shadow!!

Cousin Caleb is 1!!

My precious little nephew just turned one on Januray 27th. He is another one where I just don't know where the time has gone!! Katie and Josh had a great First Birthday party for him! McKenna just loves birthday parties these days too! (she is already planning her 4th birthday and doesn't understand that she has 11 more months before it gets here!) We went early to help with the finishing touches of things and all McKenna did was ask when the party was going to start! (She was really asking when are we going to get to eat cake!!) So here are some pictures from the birthday party!! Happy Birthday to such a sweet one year old! We love you Caleb!

I love those two sweet angels!

Caleb quickly got the hang of this cake thing!

He loved it!! (don't worry...Katie took a good chunk of it away...he didn't eat it all!)

McKenna is 3!

I can hardly believe it but my little girl turned 3 this past Friday! It seems like only yesterday I was bringing her home from the hospital but then I can barely remember my life without her. She is truly the greatest gift God could have given me and I love her so much. Part of me gets a little sad on her birthday because that just means that she is one year older but then it is also so exciting to see how she is growing and changing. She is such a little girl now even though she will always be my baby!
We had a 3 day celebration of her birthday this year. It started out on Thursday when I took cupcakes up to her little school and we had a little school birthday for her there! She was so excited and happy and as soon as I walked in the door she started chanting "cupcakes. cupcakes" and then the rest of the kids started in too. Poor Miss Tara....I really did feel bad getting them all sugared up for her!

We couldn't do real candles so they all pretended to blow out their candles!

What a happy birthday girl!

Then on Friday her actual birthday we went to Chuck E Cheese for lunch and a couple of her little friends joined us and Katie, Josh and Caleb met us up there too. When I asked her where she wanted to go on her b-day she told me Disney World but when I told her that wasn't really and option she voted for her second favorite place....Chuck E Cheese! That night of her b-day Mimi, Grandad, Katie, Josh and Caleb all came over for some more celebrating and cupcakes!! She also opened some presents too which she loves!

On Saturday we had her "Sleeping Beauty Party!" She had a great time! We had it at the Puppet Show and they did Sleeping Beauty so it was perfect since McKenna loves the princesses these days! Everyone had a great time and it all seemed to go pretty good (even though I was a little stressed for most of it!!!) Those of you mommy's know how birthday party's can be!!

All set up for the party!

Our gang took up half of the seating!

New Years Day and Christmas #2

As most of you probably read in my Christmas Day post McKenna and Caleb were both sick on Christmas Day so we had to have a 2nd Christmas this year! Thankfully everone is healthy now and doing much better so on New Years Day we all went over the Katies house and had another Christmas morning!!! McKenna had a great time opening up more packages and was so excited to help Caleb and see what he got as well. It is just so much fun seeing how expressive and excited she is when she opens gifts! I hated so much that they were sick but it was fun to have Christmas drawn out a little longer this year too! It just meant more fun, laughs and happy smiles!!! McKenna and Caleb had so much fun together this Christmas and I know that as Caleb gets older they will even have so much more fun!!!

McKenna loves finding fun things in her stocking!

McKenna loves Caleb so much! She is such a good big cousin to him!

What a sweet Boy! This was his 1st Christmas!

Katie, Josh and Caleb gave McKenna this precious apron and chef hat that McKenna just loved! She wore it all day! We love dress up these day!!

Caleb loved McKenna's baby bottle!! Poor thing thought it was real! McKenna is trying so hard to get all of her finger puppets on one hand.

New Years Eve Fun!

For the past two years Todd and I have started the tradition in taking McKenna to Chuck E Cheese for New Years Eve. My parents would always take Katie and I there and then we would go to a movie and have a fun time spending New Years Eve as a family and Todd and I want to do that with McKenna too! This year my parents, Katie, Josh and Caleb, and our friends, The Formans, joined us and we had a great time! McKenna just loves Chuck E Cheese and would go there all of the time if she could!! Here are some pictures of how we rung in the New Year!!!
Caleb loved riding along with McKenna!

McKenna meets friends wherever she goes. (I have no idea who this little boy is but McKenna had fun playing with him!)

Her favorite place to be....on a stage with everyones attention!!! She loved this even more than the games there!

So much fun sliding!

Christmas Morning!

On Christmas morning not only did we wake up to Santas gifts but we also woke up to a fever that McKenna had. Poor thing was sick Christmas Day. She is a trooper though and besides her not really acting completely herself she still enjoyed the day and had so much fun that morning. We already were having to make other plans for Christmas because poor little Caleb ( my sister little boy) was diagnosed with RSV on Christmas Eve so we weren't going to be able to see them on Christmas. (We actually had Christmas #2 with them on New Years Day and I will post pics from that soon)
McKenna really got Santa this year and understood it all. We saw Santa a few times and she would always tell him that she wanted a Belle doll and a Doll house so that is what Santa brought! She threw "Santa" for a loop though a couple of days before Christmas though. When she was asked what Santa was going to bring her she would say a "rocket." A ROCKET?!?!?! Santas elves had already built the doll house and the Belle doll. So we would say didn't you say Santa was going to bring you a doll house and a Belle doll and she would say "No, Santa is going to bring me a rocket." Well for a while I had no idea even what she meant by a rocket. Did my child want some type of missile to launch in the backyard???? She isn't even three yet!!! Thankfully a light was shown bright when she finally said "you know a Little Einstein rocket." DUH....what other kind of rocket is there!!!! So thankfully my wonderful parents when on a "rocket" hunt for Santa at the last minute and the elves were able to pull it off! So she did get her rocket!! Her Belle Doll and doll house were brought too and thankfully she was still super excited about those too!!! She also loved opening all of the presents under the tree. Everyone has been so wonderful to us and McKenna this year and we appreciate it all and McKenna thanks everyone and loves all of her gifts!

So excited to come down the stairs and see what Santa brought!

So excited to see her gifts!

She loved her doll!
