On Sunday, January 27th @ 8:34 pm little Caleb arrived! He was 8 lbs 14 oz and was 20 inches long! He is such a precious and handsome little guy! Katie actually started going into labor at 3 am on Saturday. She went to the hospital Sat night but her contractions were only about 4 a hour so they sent her home to "ride them out" a little more. On Sunday morning she was having them much closer together with a few others things so the doctor said come back in and this time we aren't sending you home! So at about 8:30 on Sunday morning we all headed up the the hospital! Once Katie got hooked up to all of the monitoring devices her contractions started slowing down so they decided to go ahead with the pitocin and broke her water (she had an induction planned for the 28th anyway because she was almost 2 weeks overdue) That morning she was slowly making progress and she was doing great! McKenna kept wanting to go back and see Katie, Josh and Caleb. She kept telling everyone that Katie was going night night! She just didn't understand why Katie kept laying in the bed! After several hours of not having an epidural Katie asked for one. It was great at first but then it only took to one side so she was numb on one side of her body but felt everything on the other side. They gave her some more stuff for the pain but it made her kind of sick. To top things off she had stopped progressing even with the pitocin upped several times. Little Caleb was also not dropping like he should. At about 7:30 the doctor decided that a c-section needed to be done. Katie knew that was a possibility and had come to being okay with it. She just wanted Caleb here the safest way possible. They started the c-section at about 8:00 and at about 8:45 here comes Josh, a nurse and the sweetest little baby boy! Everyone up there was able to go and see him! We had a whole waiting room full of people. Our whole family was there and my grandparents. Joshs mom got the first flight she could that morning to come up from Houston so she was able to be there for the whole day well as his granddad and his grandparents from Oklahoma. Some of the family's closest friends were also there to welcome in this precious little baby! Little Caleb just looked at us all. He was just so sweet all wrapped up in his little blanket! McKenna was in awe of him. I wish I knew what was going on in her little head. She had been kissing Katies tummy for so long and now this little baby is here that we are all calling Caleb! After we got a few minutes to look at him they took him to the nursery to weigh him and to give him his first little check-up and his first bath. We got to watch it all from the window and I got a few pictures before the lady came out and told me that I was violating HIPPA by taking pictures and I couldn't take any...oops! During this time we found out about the c-section. Once again we were reminded of how powerful and all knowing God is and how His plan is perfect even though things might not always go as we plan. When they went to take Caleb one of the nurses said" Oh my goodness this is a miracle that we did this c-section when we did. This baby's cord is wrapped three times around his neck." So if Katie had even tried to push or go on with the labor no telling what could have happened. If he had even started to drop more it could have affected him. God knew not to let this labor go on anymore and knew not to have little Caleb drop any further. What an awesome God we have! Thank you Lord for protecting our precious Caleb!!
At about 10pm we were able to go back and see Katie. She was doing great especially with the past 36+ hours she had! She had such a long day and did so good! At about 11 they moved her back to her room. They were still checking out little Caleb but said that they would bring him to her at 12:00. We all left after they got her settled so she could rest. We all came back up today though so we could hold that sweet little baby! I told McKenna that we were going to see baby Caleb. She kept saying "and want to go in there!" She didn't understand why we had to look at baby Caleb through the window last night and couldn't go in there with him and the nurses. She kept wanting to go see him! Mommy, baby and Daddy were all doing great today! He is such a handsome baby. He has a full head of dark red hair! I think that people are going to think that he and McKenna are brother and sister and not cousins! It is always hard to tell this young but I think that he looks alot like McKenna which is probably true since McKenna looks alot like Katie!! His eyes are big and open and he has that precious little turned up nose! He is just too cute and I am so proud of my new little nephew! When we got there this morning McKenna was eager to hold him and to have a tea party with him! She even brought her plate and spoon so they could have a tea party! She was so good with him and loved holding her new cousin! She is going to be such a good big cousin! My mom had also brought McKenna a new baby doll so she could have her a new baby too! She was also very excited about that! Here are some pictures of the past couple of days and our precious new blessing! I hope you enjoy them!

What a wonderful blessing! Sounds like Katie was quite a trooper! McKenna looks like she is the perfect age for a sibling (hint, hint). :)
Thanks for sharing the pictures! I can't wait to see him for myself this weekend!
I didn't even know Katie was married let alone pregnant! So exciting for them. Man I need to catch up with what is going on with old friends!
